Memoir, biography, and true-story books sit in some of the most crowded, lowest-margin categories on Amazon. This isn’t to say that your memoir isn’t a worthwhile investment… it’s just that it is important to manage your expectations.

We usually pass on non-fiction titles unless the author has a very clear idea of why they are writing their book, and what to expect when it is released to the world. If you are not already famous, it can be hard to convince someone to invest in your life-story (no matter how fascinating), and if you are famous, usually it’s best to find a literary agent.

There are reasons, besides sales, to write a non-fiction book. If you are a business leader, teacher, or thought leader a published book can be an adjunct to your other business or teaching services. Alternately, you might have an idea for a biography where you bring something to a story that hadn’t been told before. Or, you might already be an established expert in a field, and you are bringing an audience with you.

Before we take on a non-fiction title, we need to make sure that you understand the numbers and sales potential of your title. We need to know that you are not going to spend more than you can afford to lose.

If you have a story or a mission, feel free to tell us about it. We will not promise to take it, but we will give you our very best advice.
